friday night.. the glassblowing class in our school had a little exhibition in the Arts campus. which is not on the main campus, but in another part of the city, in an old english colonial building. it is beautiful, and so was the show. Emanuele had some stuff in it. there is nothing i like more than a nice art show to hang out at.

here are some close-ups of Emanuele's "snake" blown-glass sculptures. they are beautiful and multi-coloured.. and he also projected a video of him working in the glass-blowing workshop.

as you can see, he didnt want to display them on simple white plinths, so he built these towers out of old tiles.. and obviously got into trouble for using old 'heritage' tiles.. here in HK they set a little too much store by the rules...
here are some shots from around the campus..

after the opening wound down and most people left, we decided to go get some food. and the AVA arts campus is great because it's quite far out of the city, near a bunch of huge council estates that contain many, many small dirty delicious places to eat.

  1. I really like the photo of the two cooks..., their faces, the blues and the smoke. Also the photo of the customers in the same eating place.
